Woman throws ink at CJP founder Abhijit Deepke, also accused of trying to slap him

New Delhi: The atmosphere suddenly became tense during the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Saturday. A woman threw ink on Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Deepke. Not only this, his supporters allege that the woman also tried to slap him. Immediately after the incident, there was chaos at the spot and the people present there caught the woman. According to the information, this incident happened when Abhijeet Deepke was talking to his supporters and protesters at Jantar Mantar. Then suddenly a woman came close to him and threw ink on him. The people present at the spot immediately intervened and caught the woman. According to eyewitnesses, during this time the woman also tried to slap Deepke. However, before she could succeed, the volunteers and supporters present there stopped her. After the incident, there was an atmosphere of tension at the protest site for some time.

The stir increased after Sonam Wangchuk was taken to the hospital

There was continuous movement at Jantar Mantar since Saturday morning. First of all, Delhi Police admitted social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was on indefinite hunger strike for a long time, to Safdarjung Hospital after her health deteriorated. After this action of the police, resentment increased among the people associated with the movement. Meanwhile, Abhijeet Deepke announced that he too will now sit on an indefinite hunger strike. Shortly after this, the incident of ink being thrown on him came to light, which further heated up the atmosphere of the movement.

Abhijeet Deepke started indefinite hunger strike

After Sonam Wangchuk was taken to the hospital, Abhijeet Deepke announced his indefinite fast by posting on the social media platform ‘X’. He said that the agitation will continue and his hunger strike has started with immediate effect. During this period, many other student organizations and social workers also participated in the protest at Jantar Mantar. Some workers associated with All India Students Association (AISA) are also continuing their hunger strike.

Questions raised on police action

Abhijeet Deepke alleged that during the protest, Delhi Police beat him up and even detained him for some time. However, Delhi Police did not agree to these allegations and said that the entire action was taken on the instructions of the court and for the purpose of maintaining law and order. Police say that in view of Sonam Wangchuk’s deteriorating health, she was taken to the hospital on the advice of specialist doctors. An appeal was also made to the protesters to maintain peace and follow the law.

On which issue is the movement going on?

This movement is going on at Jantar Mantar regarding alleged irregularities in NEET exam, paper leaks and controversies related to it. The agitators are demanding transparency in the examination process, action against the culprits and protection of the interests of the students. Sonam Wangchuk was on hunger strike since June 28 in support of this movement. After his hospitalization, Abhijeet Deepke took command of the movement and started an indefinite fast. Meanwhile, the incident of ink being thrown on him gave a new turn to the entire protest. Now discussions regarding this entire incident have intensified at the political and social level also.
