The small story of ‘Aadavi’ teaches us to improve the earth, the world’s first carbon neutral baby
World Environment Day 2026: Carbon footprints determine what climate change will look like and how likely it is to reduce or eliminate its impacts. Achieving zero carbon emissions may be surprising as well as hopeful. A two-year-old girl has proved that even a small step can bring a big change. Let’s meet Adavi, who has been recognized by Asia Book of Records as the world’s first zero neutral carbon baby.
6000 trees growing with Aadvi
The reason behind this title of Aadvi is the visionary thinking of his parents, who along with the farmers of Tamil Nadu have planted 6000 fruit trees, which are growing along with Aadvi. With this, Advani will produce zero carbon in her entire life. After planting 6,000 fruit trees around his home in Tamil Nadu, Adavi’s carbon emissions will be completely absorbed.
Her parents, Dinesh Kshatriyaan SP and Janaga Nandini Ramaswamy, had dedicated themselves to the mission even before their daughter was born by collaborating with various farmers in their home state as they dreamed of a better planet for their daughter.
How was this availability possible?
According to Advani’s parents, efforts are being made towards a sustainable development through initiatives like planting trees, conserving forests, reviving water sources, taking care of coastal areas and empowering the agriculture sector. Dinesh and Janaga are building an India that is moving towards sustainable development. In just two years, he has planted four lakh trees and revived forests across India, inspiring countless people with his work.
Advani’s parents started Seerakhu to promote carbon neutrality in India. He created a ‘food forest’ with 6,000 trees, shrubs and plants. This target was achieved by In March 2024, the Government of Tamil Nadu recognized Advani’s work by declaring him the Child Ambassador of Green Mission.

‘Institute for Social and Economic Change’ According to (ISEC) report, an average Indian emits about 1.9 tonnes of carbon dioxide every year. This increase in emissions is happening due to factors like population growth, economic development and increasing use of fossil fuels. Advani’s parents’ dedication towards planting fruit trees is not only an achievement in the field of environment, but is also a living example of their commitment towards society.
Parents left job and started NGO
Leaving the hyping job at IIT, Madras, Dinesh along with his wife Nandini started an NGO named Sirakhu. The only goal of this organization is to create carbon neutral India. They also educate other Indians to reduce their carbon footprint through planting trees. In the last two years, the couple has planted more than four lakh trees and managed to revive the forests.

What is zero carbon emission?
A person, company or country is carbon neutral when they balance the carbon dioxide they release into the atmosphere through their everyday activities. This is called net zero carbon emissions. The definition of net zero emissions is sometimes extended to include other gases such as methane, nitrous oxide and hydrofluorocarbons. These other gases contribute about 24% of global greenhouse gas emissions and carbon dioxide the remaining 76%.
How to reduce carbon emissions
There are two main ways to achieve zero carbon release: reducing emissions and removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. For those who actively capture carbon dioxide through technology, planting trees is the only option.

Advani’s parents are always in the headlines.
This story in itself is an example that even a single step can have a huge impact on the environment. The couple made headlines last year when they got married in the Harry Potter theme. For this wedding, a Chennai based startup had prepared the venue in Hogwart School of Witchcraft theme.
After this, the couple once again made headlines when they gave Non-Fungible Token (NFT) as a gift to their daughter after the birth of her daughter.
