Marvel’s X-Men reboot could soon reveal more of its cast. With filming reportedly set to begin soon, the studio may be preparing to announce additional mutant heroes and villains.
According to a recent update from Film basefilming on Marvel’s X-Men movie will begin at the end of summer. However, despite the filming update, there is still no confirmation of where the movie will be filmed. The update suggests that the production could potentially film in Ireland and at Pinewood.
Ever since Disney acquired 21st Century Fox’s entertainment assets, fans have called for the mutants to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The upcoming film’s release will mark the end of a long wait for fans.
Marvel has continued to expand its X-Men cast in recent weeks, most notably at D23, where it announced seven actors. However, they are yet to announce actors for roles such as Magneto, Beast and Mystique.
Which X-Men cast members have been officially announced?
There has been significant buzz surrounding the actors Marvel has announced to star in the upcoming X-Men reboot. The first major casting announcement was Sadie Sink, who recently made her MCU debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. While her character was initially kept under wraps amid the film’s promotion, it was later revealed that the Stranger Things star is the new Jean Grey.
Kevin Feige announced other cast members alongside Sink’s Jean Grey at D23. The Marvel Studios president also called up the new X-Men members, which included Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier. Interestingly, that wasn’t all the announcement for the upcoming film. Adam Driver made a special video appearance at the event and revealed playing the iconic villain Mister Sinister.
The Untitled X-Men film is set to hit theaters on May 5, 2028.
