Display and Design
The biggest highlight of the Xiaomi 18 Fold is its display format. It comes with a 5.38-inch AMOLED outer display and a 7.58-inch AMOLED inner folding display. Both panels use an approximately √2:1 aspect ratio, giving the unfolded screen a more paper-like shape compared with the tall displays used on many conventional foldables.
Both screens support a 1–120 Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, P3 color gamut, Dolby Vision and full-brightness DC dimming. Xiaomi claims peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits under its specified testing conditions. The inner screen also features a low-reflection treatment, while the outer display is protected by Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0.
The phone measures only 5.02mm when unfolded and 10.68mm when folded, while weighing 219g. It also features Xiaomi’s new Dragon Bone Hinge and carries IP58 and IP59 dust and water resistance ratings.
Xring O3 Processor and Performance
The Xiaomi 18 Fold is powered by Xiaomi’s 3nm Xring O3 processor, which uses a 10-core all-big-core CPU design. It includes two C1-Ultra cores clocked up to 4.35GHz, four C1-Premium cores up to 3.68GHz and four C1-Pro cores reaching 3.15GHz. Graphics are handled by a 16-core Mali G2-Ultra NX GPU, while a four-core Xring NPU handles AI workloads.
The phone comes with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, with UFS 4.1 storage. Xiaomi has equipped the foldable with a 3D ring-shaped cooling system to help manage heat during demanding tasks and sustained performance.

Leica Camera System
Photography is another major feature of the Xiaomi 18 Fold. The rear camera setup consists of three Leica-branded cameras. The primary sensor is a 200MP Samsung HP5 camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, f/1.7 aperture and OIS. It is joined by a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS.
The camera system uses Leica Summilux optics and supports advanced video recording, including 8K video at 24fps and 4K 60fps Dolby Vision recording. Xiaomi has also included 16MP front cameras on both the inner and outer displays.
6,000mAh Battery and Charging
The Xiaomi 18 Fold packs a large 6,000mAh battery, which is particularly notable considering its thin 219g body. The battery uses Xiaomi’s Jinshajiang technology, a stacked design and around 20% silicon content.
Charging support includes 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. This combination gives the foldable a strong battery package while maintaining its slim design.
HyperOS 4 and Connectivity
The Xiaomi 18 Fold runs HyperOS 4 based on Android 17. Xiaomi has added software features designed around the large internal display, including support for up to six-way split-screen multitasking. The phone also features Super XiaoAI and Xiaomi’s MiMo AI model, with some AI functions expected to arrive through future updates.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, UWB, 5G, VoNR, USB 3.2 Gen 2 and infrared remote control. It also features Xiaomi Star Communication, stereo speakers, an X-axis linear vibration motor and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Conclusion
The Xiaomi 18 Fold is a feature-packed flagship that combines a large paper-like folding display with powerful hardware, Leica cameras and a 6,000mAh battery. Its slim 5.02mm unfolded profile and 219g weight further strengthen its appeal. With sales beginning in China on September 10, the foldable is positioned as a strong competitor in the premium foldable segment. However, Xiaomi is yet to confirm its international availability, including a possible launch in India.
