Xiaomi’s Next Xring O3 Chip Tipped Ahead of Expected Launch: 4.05GHz Prime Cores, 3nm Process, and 25% GPU Boost

Xiaomi’s next-generation in-house smartphone chipset has surfaced in a fresh leak ahead of its expected debut. The upcoming Xring O3 processor is reportedly in development as the successor to the Xring O1with new information indicating changes to its manufacturing process, architecture, and performance characteristics. Although Xiaomi has not officially announced the chipset, recent leaks suggest the company could be preparing a more capable custom processor for its future smartphones and other products.

3nm manufacturing, not 2nm

Tipster Fixed Focus Digital claims in a Weibo post that Xiaomi will continue with TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing process for the Xring O3. By comparison, Qualcomm and MediaTek are both expected to move their next flagship mobile chipsets to a newer 2nm process. While Qualcomm and MediaTek are expected to adopt TSMC’s 2nm node for their next-generation flagship processors, the tipster claims Xiaomi’s new chip could still deliver meaningful improvements over the current Xring O1.

CPU architecture: Prime + Titanium + Little, no traditional big cores

The Xring O3 is expected to arrive with a new 3-cluster CPU layout using a Prime + Titanium + Little core structure and no traditional big-core cluster. The Prime cores will push past the 4GHz mark to hit 4.05GHzwhile the Little cores are boosted to 3.02GHz — a 68% increase over Xring O1’s 1.79GHz. The Titanium cores run around 3.4–3.43GHz for high-performance operations and intense gaming.

GPU up 25%, memory speed unchanged

The GPU, likely an ARM Mali G1-Ultra, is expected to run at 1.5GHzup from 1.2GHz on the previous generation, delivering around 25% GPU improvement. DRAM support remains at 9600 MT/s. The chip is also expected to bring significant efficiency gains compared to the already impressive Xring O1, with better performance overall, particularly in the mid to low frequency range.

Could power Xiaomi 18 Ultra and wider lineup

Reports suggest the Xiaomi 18 Ultra could be the first device to feature the Xring O3, with wider adoption tipped compared to last year’s SoC. The chip is expected to be China-exclusive at launchmarking another major step in Xiaomi’s in-house chipset strategy.
