You can easily withdraw PF money from ATM, PM Modi can launch this scheme soon
Employee Provident Fund (EPF) is a retirement savings scheme, in which both the employee and the employer deposit a part of the employee’s monthly salary. This deposited money can be withdrawn at the time of retirement or loss of job. Now, a big news has come for the salary earners, the central government is preparing to link PF accounts with the banking gateway. With this, people will be able to easily withdraw their PF money using ATM and UPI.
The whole system will be as easy as banking
Under EPFO 3.0, subscribers can be issued a ‘PF ATM Card’. With this card you will be able to easily withdraw cash by going to any ATM and just entering your PIN or OTP. Similarly, you will also be able to link your UPI ID to your PF account. After this, you will be able to transfer money directly to your bank account through EPFO portal or Umang app.
To avail the facility of withdrawing money through ATM and UPI, EPFO members have to fulfill certain conditions. It will be mandatory for all users to have an active Universal Account Number (UAN). Apart from this, the mobile number linked to UAN should also be active. Members must also ensure that their UAN is completely KYC-compliant. This condition includes linking their Aadhaar, PAN, bank account details and IFSC code.
PM Modi can start soon
According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may launch this scheme soon. In simple words, your PF account will work exactly like a normal bank account. Under the ‘EPFO 3.0’ initiative, work is currently underway to link PF accounts to the banking gateway, allowing you to withdraw money directly through ATM or UPI at any time.
