Sitarganj. As part of the campaign against illegal weapons, Sitarganj police has arrested a youth with an illegal knife in Shakti Farm area. The police have registered a case against the accused under the Arms Act and started necessary legal action.
According to the police, on October 2, 2026, the police team of Kotwali Sitarganj was deployed on peacekeeping duty in Shakti Farm area. Meanwhile, the police team reached near the road leading from Karmayog Kushmuda Tirahe towards Sirsa Road to Vanashakti Temple. Here the police saw a young man coming on foot. Seeing the police team, the young man suddenly got scared and started trying to run away from the spot.
Police personnel chased the youth and caught him on the spot using necessary force. After this he was searched. During the search, a sharp illegal knife was recovered from the lower right pocket of the youth. The police took the knife into their possession and interrogated the young man.
After the recovery of illegal weapons, the police have registered a case against the accused under FIR No. 484/2026, Section 25(1-B)(b) of the Arms Act. Police said that necessary legal action is being taken in the matter.
According to police officials, along with surveillance of suspicious persons in the area, the campaign against those possessing and using illegal weapons will continue.
The police team that took action included Inspector-in-charge Sundaram Sharma, Sub-inspector Jagdish Tiwari, Head Constable Navneet Kumar and Head Constable Kundan Rawat.
