During this, Union Minister of State and Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra, while talking to journalists, said that today is the holy day of the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. He further said that if in today's time any one leader had done the historic work of giving a strong ideological direction to the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and later the Bharatiya Janata Party, then it was Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. He served as the General Secretary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh from 1951 to 1968 and later he also became its National President.
