Now that picture is going to be a thing of the past. The work of decorating important roads and various government areas of the city with orange, yellow and white colors has started. Administration claims, not just color change, overall infrastructure development and beautification of the city is the main goal of this initiative.

Color changing work has already started in many important areas of Howrah. Especially the orange, yellow and white color scheme is clearly visible in the area extending from the south side of Manning Lane and National Road number 117 bridge to the indoor stadium. Administrative officials feel that the beauty of the city will become more attractive with the new colors.
