Earlier, delivery workers had also gone on strike on 25 and 31 December 2025. At that time, the delivery workers had raised their voice against their plight and accused the online delivery platforms of exploitation. After the strike by delivery workers during that period, the Labor Ministry of the Central Government had also implemented several rules to stop their exploitation. The reason for the strike this time is that petrol has become expensive and delivery workers work in two wheeler vehicles to distribute goods. Because of which their pockets are going to be a burden.

Due to this, the price of petrol in Delhi has increased to Rs 94.77 per liter. At the same time, in Kolkata, petrol is being sold at a price of more than Rs 100.
