Annapurna Yojana Started: Shubhendu Adhikari Government started giving Rs 3000 to the women of West Bengal under Annapurna Yojana, till now so many lakh beneficiaries have been registered.

Kolkata. In West Bengal, women beneficiaries of ‘Annapurna Yojana’ started getting Rs 3,000 each from Wednesday. West Bengal CM Subhendu Adhikari started Annapurna Yojana by sending money into the accounts of women. In the first phase, names of 28 lakh 25 thousand women of West Bengal have been added as beneficiaries in this scheme. Under Annapurna Yojana, eligible women of West Bengal will be given Rs 36000 every year. According to estimates, 2 crore women in West Bengal will get the benefit of Annapurna Yojana.

The Subhendu Adhikari government of West Bengal has asked the women of the state to fill a 12-page form within 90 days to avail the benefits of Annapurna Yojana. Under Annapurna Yojana, money will be sent every month to women aged 25 to 60 years. BJP had promised Annapurna Yojana in its resolution letter during the West Bengal Assembly elections. After the formation of BJP government, CM Shubhendu Adhikari had said that every promise will be fulfilled. He had given instructions that Annapurna Yojana should be implemented from June 1, 2026. Subhendu Adhikari Government has already provided free travel facility in government buses to the women of the state.

Earlier, Mamata Banerjee’s TMC government used to run ‘Lakshmir Bhandar’ scheme. Under Lakshmir Bhandar Yojana, Mamata Banerjee government used to give Rs 1500 every month to the women of West Bengal. After the formation of BJP government, on the instructions of CM Shubhendu Adhikari, investigation has been started on those who received money under Laxmir Bhandar. The investigation so far has revealed that more than 100 men were taking advantage of this scheme in the same district. The name of a person named Mustafizur and his wife have also come up in this investigation. CM Shubhendu Adhikari had told that Mustafizur and his wife opened 15 bank accounts and took Lakshmir Bhandar’s money from them. Another Muslim man opened 6 bank accounts and took money from Laxmir Bhandar.
