He announced that the whole of Bengal would not become a part of Pakistan, for this the Bengali-Hindu Homeland Movement was started.

The Prime Minister said that when there was a conspiracy to separate the entire Bengal from India, those plans were not allowed to succeed by creating a separate West Bengal. The thousands of years old civilization and culture here, its original faith and tradition, survived after many struggles. Even today those values, the values ​​of this land are not only safe but also alive in the form of West Bengal. So as Paschim Bang Diwas is celebrated we are not just commemorating a date, we are commemorating the entire history. We are paying tribute to the thousands of years old heritage of Bengal. After independence, there was a need to take it forward in the same spirit in which West Bengal was saved, but unfortunately, exactly the opposite happened. An attempt was made to forget Paschim Bang Day and its spirit. History was whitewashed due to political agendas.

Modi further said, at the time of partition, Congress which wanted to leave Bengal unclaimed, after partition, it started playing appeasement games in the remaining West Bengal also. The history of West Bengal was suppressed. Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee became the founder of Jan Sangh, hence his contribution was neglected. Efforts were made to destroy the spirit with which he fought for Bengal. Foreign ideology was imposed on the land to which great children like Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar belonged. First Congress, then Left, later TMC, instead of saving and beautifying West Bengal for decades, made it a base for illegal infiltrators.
