NEET UG 2026 Paper Leak Case: Court extended the judicial custody of 13 accused arrested in NEET UG 2026 paper leak case till July 24.


New Delhi. The court has extended the judicial custody of 13 accused arrested in the NEET UG 2026 paper leak case till July 24. The previous judicial custody period of these accused was ending today, due to which all of them were produced before Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court through video conferencing. The CBI, which is investigating the case, told the court that the investigation is still going on and some more people may be arrested. The accused include Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, Tejas Harshad Kumar Shah, Dinesh Biwal, Vikas Biwal, Mangi Lal Biwal, Yash Yadav, PV Kulkarni, Dr. Manoj Shirure, Dhananjay Lokhande, Shubham Khairnar, Manisha Waghmare, Manisha Mandhare and Manisha Sanjay Havildar.

CBI had conducted raids at many places across the country to arrest the accused related to the paper leak. The accused who have been arrested include Professor Manisha Mandhare and retired Professor PV Kulkarni, who were entrusted with the responsibility as exam experts by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Apart from this there are coaching operators and some other people. After this incident came to light, questions were raised on the functioning of the examination conducting body NTA because the people to whom NTA entrusted the responsibility of preparing the question paper as experts, leaked the paper.

It is noteworthy that NEET UG examination was conducted on May 3 this year. About 23 lakh candidates appeared in the examination conducted in 551 cities in the country and 14 centers abroad. On May 7, information about the paper leak came to light. When NTA conducted an investigation, it was found that the allegations of paper leak were true, after which the government issued an order to cancel the exam on May 12. After this, the re-exam of NEET UG 2026 was conducted just last month on 21st June.
