Clouds will rain from Delhi to UP, IMD issues alert for 15 states, warning of heavy rain for next 3 days
New Delhi: Monsoon has once again become active with full force in North India including Delhi-NCR. The pace of rain had slowed down in the last few days, but now the weather has taken a turn. The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to heavy rain in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and surrounding areas for the next three days. A two-day yellow alert has been issued for the capital Delhi. Apart from this, heavy rains are expected to continue in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Uttarakhand.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the weather of Delhi-NCR will remain completely changed on Tuesday and Wednesday. There is a possibility of dense cloudy sky throughout the day. There may be light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in many areas, while heavy rain may also be recorded at some places. There is also a possibility of strong winds along with rain, which will provide relief to people from heat and humidity. The Meteorological Department says that rain may continue in the capital till July 9. Due to continuous rain, the maximum temperature has dropped by about 4 to 5 degrees Celsius. At the same time, improvement in air quality (AQI) has also been seen and it has reached the satisfactory category.
Rain alert for many districts in Uttar Pradesh
Monsoon remains fully active in Uttar Pradesh also. There is a possibility of good rain in Western Uttar Pradesh till July 10, while heavy rain has been predicted in Eastern Uttar Pradesh between July 11 and 13. Rain warning has been issued in many districts of western UP including Noida, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Meerut. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in Lucknow, Kanpur and other districts of Awadh region for the next few days.
Weather may also worsen in Himachal, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir
The rainy season is going to continue in the hilly states also. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain, storm and lightning in Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh from July 8 to 12. There may be heavy rainfall in many areas in Himachal Pradesh between July 8 and 13. Uttarakhand is also expected to receive good rainfall during the same period. Strong winds can blow in these states, whose speed can reach up to 50 kilometers per hour. People have been advised to take extra caution while traveling in hilly areas.
Monsoon will be active in Rajasthan and Haryana also
There is a possibility of heavy rain in East Rajasthan during 8th and 9th July. Some parts of Western Rajasthan may also receive good rain on July 9. Rain alert has been issued for the next three days in many districts of Haryana including Gurugram, Hisar, Jhajjar, Bhiwani. The Meteorological Department says that there is a possibility of lightning along with heavy rain at some places in these areas.
Clouds will rain in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand also
Rain is expected to continue in western parts of Madhya Pradesh till July 9 and in eastern Madhya Pradesh till July 11. Warning of heavy rain has also been issued in Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. There may be heavy rains with thunder and lightning in the Ganga plains of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal between July 8 and 11. Monsoon is likely to remain fully active in Odisha also for the next few days.
The scope of monsoon is continuously increasing
The Meteorological Department says that the south-west monsoon is advancing rapidly. Due to its effect, monsoon is becoming fully active in the remaining parts of Gujarat along with other areas of Rajasthan and Haryana. During the next two to three days, due to moisture coming from the Arabian Sea and favorable meteorological conditions, there is a possibility of good rain in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and many parts of North India. Apart from this, heavy rains may continue in Gujarat, Konkan, Central Maharashtra, West Bengal and Sikkim. The Meteorological Department has advised people to be cautious during bad weather and travel only when necessary.
