New Delhi. B., minister in the DK Shivakumar led Congress government in Karnataka. Nagendra has resigned. Nagendra cried bitterly while announcing his resignation in the press conference. B. Nagendra is accused of involvement in the alleged Rs 89 crore scam in Karnataka Maharishi Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation. However, Nagendra rejected all the allegations against him. While presenting his clarification, he said that he is being targeted as part of a conspiracy. Nagendra was included in the Shivkumar cabinet this month.

Nagendra had to resign as minister twice over the same scam. Earlier, when Siddaramaiah was the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Nagendra also held the post of minister in his government. But due to pressure from the opposition in connection with the Maharishi Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation scam, he resigned from his post on June 6, 2024. After Shivkumar assumed power, Nagendra got another chance to become a minister but he could not hold the post even for a month and had to resign. Earlier, opposition parties BJP and JDS during the monsoon session of Karnataka Assembly. There was a massive protest demanding Nagendra's resignation.
During this period, Nagendra also targeted BJP. He said that Manuwadis are deliberately targeting me because I come from the tribal community and they do not want any tribal person to progress. Nagendra said that BJP cannot scare me with ED and CBI. The Maharishi Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation scam came to light in 2024 after the suicide of Chandrashekharan P., Accounts Superintendent of the corporation. It is alleged that out of the total grant of Rs 187 crore of the corporation, about Rs 89 crore was transferred from Union Bank of India to unauthorized accounts through fake documents and forged signatures.
