New Delhi. BJP has won the mayoral elections held in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota of Rajasthan. All three have been elected mayors of BJP in the Municipal Corporation. BJP's Anusuiya Goswami in Kota, Sunil Kothari in Jaipur and Prasanna Mehta in Jodhpur have won the elections. With this, now BJP has become mayor in 9 out of 10 municipal corporations of the state. Only Bikaner is with Congress, Anil Kalla is the mayor here. Although BJP faced competition in Jodhpur, the constituency of veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Congress could not win.

In Jaipur, BJP's Sunil Kothari defeated Congress candidate Sunita Mahawar by a huge margin. Sunil Kothari got 89 votes while 60 votes were cast in favor of Congress candidate Sunita Mahawar. Similarly, in Jodhpur, BJP candidate Prasannachand Mehta got 53 votes and his rival Congress candidate Rajendra Solanki got 47 votes. The toughest competition was believed to be in Jodhpur only. In Jodhpur, BJP has 45 councilors and Congress has 44 councilors. While there are 11 independent councillors. In such a situation, BJP got the support of independent councilors and Prasannachand Mehta was elected mayor.

In Kota, BJP candidate Anusuiya Goswami was facing Congress's Sunita Suman. BJP has 57 councilors in the 100 ward Kota Municipal Corporation and thus the victory of the BJP candidate was already considered certain. In Kota Municipal Corporation, BJP has got 65 votes and Congress has got 35 votes. It is being told that here 4 Congress councilors have voted in favor of BJP by cross voting.
