Opposition leaders including Congress are continuously alleging that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, in collaboration with BJP, took away the voting rights of crores of people through SIR. Opposition leaders are demanding the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar. At the same time, the Election Commission has clearly said that only the names of dead, duplicate and absent voters have been deleted from the SIR. The Election Commission has also said that if someone is an eligible voter, he can get his name added to the voter list again by filling Form-6. The Election Commission has instructed all BLOs to go door-to-door and get the forms filled to get the names of eligible voters added to the list. At the same time, the opposition is also alleging that changes were made in Form-6 illegally during SIR. At the same time, the Election Commission says that no changes were made in Form-6. An accompanying declaration was sought during the SIR. Which was also approved by the Supreme Court.
