11 kg crown, powerful voice and 140 feet stage, Ramayana will resonate on the Red Fort

New Delhi:The grounds of the Red Fort are ready, the characters have been decorated and the artists have geared up to bring alive the divine saga of Ramayana. In the full dress rehearsal of Luv-Kush Ramleela Committee, every character from Ravana with the shining 11 kg crown and powerful voice to Maryada Purushottam Shriram showed a glimpse of their acting.

Devesh Sharma in the role of Shri Ram, Kaveri Priyam as Mata Sita, Tiger Pankaj Kamad in the role of Mahabali Hanuman and Rajpremi as Lankapati Ravana will be the center of attraction on the stage.

The presence of experienced artists from the film and television world will make Ramlila special this time.

Ravana’s heavy black costume, the crown weighing about 11 kg and the magnificent jewelery will give a new experience of grandeur to the audience. Experienced costume expert Vishnu Patil and his team have been busy in preparations for the last two months. Whereas makeup expert Pankaj Jivraj Chautalia is busy in bringing alive the look of the artists.

According to committee chairman Arjun Kumar, a glimpse of the grand Meenakshi temple will be visible on the 140 feet long, 60 feet wide and 45 feet high stage. General Secretary Subhash Goyal said that Ramlila will run from 11 to 21 October. At the inauguration, Ganpati puja will be performed with the lotus flowers of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and MP Praveen Khandelwal. Dussehra festival will be celebrated on 20th October.
