Patna. The approximately 124 km long four lane being built between Munger and Mirzachowki in Bihar has now reached the final stage of construction. After completion of about 85 percent work of the project, the remaining parts are being prepared rapidly. The movement of vehicles is expected to start after Durga Puja on Munger-Bhagalpur section.
Electricity tower removal work started
The work of shifting three high tension towers coming in the way of road construction in Patam area of Munger has started. This process is being done by taking shutdown from the electricity department. After the tower is removed, the construction of the remaining portion of the road will be able to proceed faster.
Will get relief from traffic jam
With the introduction of Munger-Bhagalpur four lane, big vehicles will get a new and better route. At present, due to the movement of large vehicles on Vikramshila Bridge being affected, there is additional pressure on Shri Krishna Setu and the surrounding roads. Thousands of additional vehicles are passing through this route every day, creating traffic jams at many places.
Target to complete work by October
Some road work is still pending in the initial part of Munger, near Bariyarpur and Patam. The work of the overbridge being built near Telia Pond is also in the final stage. The department aims to complete the remaining construction by the third week of October.
After the commencement of four lanes, vehicles traveling towards Munger, Bhagalpur and surrounding areas along with North Bihar, Patna, Kosi and Seemanchal are also expected to get better connectivity.
