After The Arrest Of I Pac Co Founder Vinesh Chandel The Family Of Pratik Jain Was Summoned
The Enforcement Directorate (ED), intensifying its investigation in the case related to money laundering and alleged hawala transactions, on Tuesday (April 14) has summoned I-PAC co-founder Prateek Jain’s wife Barbie Jain and her brother Pulkit Jain for questioning. The summons was issued just hours after the agency arrested Vinesh Chandel, co-founder and director of I-Pac, from New Delhi.
According to official sources, this entire matter is related to alleged hawala transactions, the links of which are being linked to the alleged coal scam in West Bengal. This action is being considered important amid the election atmosphere of the assembly in the state.
ED had arrested Vinesh Chandel late on Monday (April 13) evening in a money laundering case related to the coal scam. After this, on Tuesday, summons were issued to Prateek Jain’s family members and called for questioning, which indicates that the scope of the investigation may be wider.
The investigating agencies are trying to find out through which channels the money flowed through the alleged hawala transactions and who played a role in it. According to sources, many other people can also be interrogated in this case.
Earlier in January, ED had raided the residence and office of Prateek Jain. During that time, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had claimed that she had taken some files with her, which contained documents related to her party. This development had also given the matter a political shape.
ED’s latest action indicates that the agency is busy investigating the entire chain of financial transactions in this case. However, till now no official response has come from Prateek Jain on this entire incident. The investigation is ongoing and more revelations are expected in the coming days.
