Narendra Modi inaugurated Shri Guru Bhairavaikya Temple in Karnataka, described it as a memorable moment
In his address, the Prime Minister said that today my mind is filled with such feelings which are difficult to express in words. Every moment spent at this holy place, in the company of saints and blessings of the crowd will be memorable for him throughout his life. He considered it his good fortune that he got the opportunity to come here on this auspicious occasion and wished everyone the best.
Referring to India’s cultural heritage, the Prime Minister said that India has been a vibrant civilization for thousands of years. He said that there are very few such examples in the world where traditions have remained continuous for such a long time. Referring to Sri Adichunchangiri Math, he said that this Math is a living testimony of nearly 2,000 years of tradition and spiritual heritage. Its Guru tradition, spiritual philosophy and spirit of service have enriched this land for generations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that from time to time, such great saints and great men have been coming to our society, who are not limited to just spiritual guidance but understand the pain and suffering of the society and show the way to get people out of difficulties.
Referring to the achievements of the government in the field of health, the Prime Minister said that crores of poor people have got free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. He said that the scope of this scheme has been expanded to include all senior citizens above 70 years of age, so that they can get better health services with respect.
The Prime Minister also recalled the contribution of Mahaswamiji of Adichunchanagiri Math. He said that Mahaswamiji established many institutions in the field of education, where facilities for education from primary level to medical and engineering were provided. This has especially benefited children from rural and poor families. Even in the health sector, he established institutions inspired by the spirit of service, so that quality treatment could reach every citizen.
In his address, the Prime Minister placed nine important requests before the people. He appealed to take a pledge to save water and manage it better. Under the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign, he gave the message of planting trees and protecting the environment in honor of his mother. Describing cleanliness as a collective responsibility, he mentioned about maintaining cleanliness everywhere.
The Prime Minister appealed to adopt ‘Vocal for Local’, know the country and promote domestic tourism. He advised to move towards natural farming and include millets in the diet. Also, to avoid obesity, it was suggested to reduce the amount of oil in food by 10 percent.
He said that yoga and sports should be made a part of life and described service to the needy as the basis of strength of the society. In the end, PM Modi said that if these nine requests are implemented honestly, then the dream of developed Karnataka and developed India can be fulfilled soon.
