Harivansh Elected Unopposed As Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Pm Modi Said Tribute To Experience

Harivansh-Narayan-SinghjNew Delhi, April 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated Harivansh Narayan Singh on being elected Deputy Chairman for the third consecutive time in the Rajya Sabha and openly appreciated his experience and working style. PM Modi said that Harivansh Narayan Singh’s election to this post for the third time is proof that the House has deep faith in him.

In his address, the Prime Minister said that the House has greatly benefited from the experience of Narayan Singh in the past years. Today the House has approved the efforts he has made to take all the parties along. PM Modi called it respect for experience and acceptance of simple working style. He said that under the leadership of Harivansh, the proceedings of Rajya Sabha have become more effective. PM Modi also said that Harivansh not only runs the House, but also makes the House prosperous by using his life experiences in a better way. Due to his experience, both the proceedings and atmosphere of the House have become more mature. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that his new tenure will also proceed with the same balance, dedication and positive thinking and will take the dignity of the House to new heights.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also mentioned a special coincidence. He told that April 17 is also the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of the country Chandrashekhar. PM Modi said that Harivansh had a deep association with Chandrashekhar ji, and he was also his companion. In such a situation, his handling of this important responsibility for the third time on the same day is a special coincidence. The Prime Minister also mentioned Harivansh’s background and his social contributions.

He told that Harivansh ji was born in the village of Jaiprakash Narayan. Coming from a rural environment, he has been working for the development of his village and society since his student days. His education took place in Kashi, which further enhanced his personality. PM Modi also praised Harivansh Narayan Singh’s activism and connection with the society. He said that since Harivansh took over as the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha in 2018, he has participated in more than 350 programs in colleges and universities across the country. The Prime Minister called it a big and commendable work.
