Big decision of Yogi government after Noida-Greater Noida dispute
Up news: After the recent increasing dispute over wages in Noida and Greater Noida, the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has taken a big step. The government has amended the minimum wage rates, notification on which has also been issued after the approval of the Governor. Now the new wage rates have been implemented in the entire state and it will be mandatory for all employers to follow them.
Region divided into three categories
The government had formed a high level committee to end the ongoing dispute between workers and companies regarding wages. Based on the recommendations of the committee, different minimum wages have been fixed by dividing the state into three categories, so that balance is maintained according to the needs and expenses of each region.
Up news: First category: Noida-Ghaziabad benefit the most
Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad have been kept in the first category, where the cost of living is high. Here the minimum wage for unskilled workers has been fixed at Rs 13,690, for semi-skilled workers at Rs 15,059 and for skilled workers at Rs 16,868 per month.
Up news: These districts are included in the second category
The remaining districts with municipal corporations have been kept in the second category. Here unskilled workers will get Rs 13,006, semi-skilled workers will get Rs 14,306 and skilled workers will get Rs 16,025 per month.
Third category: New rates for remaining districts
The third category includes all the remaining districts of the state. Here the wages of unskilled workers have been fixed at Rs 12,356, of semi-skilled workers at Rs 13,590 and of skilled workers at Rs 15,224. All these include dearness allowance (VDA) along with basic salary.
Strict action will be taken against irregularities
The government has made it clear that after the implementation of the new rates, if there is any kind of reduction or violation of rules, strict action will be taken. Earlier the wage revision was stuck in 2019 and 2024, which has now been updated according to inflation.
