Death toll in Madhya Pradesh Dhar accident reaches 16, 4 more laborers die!

The death toll in the tragic road accident in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh has increased to 16. Four more laborers died during treatment. Mass cremation of all the deceased was performed on Thursday.

This accident happened on Tuesday in Tirla police station area. A pickup vehicle loaded with labourers, carrying about 46 people including women and children, went out of control and overturned near a hotel.

This train was coming from Ghatabillod. It is being told that the vehicle suddenly went in the wrong direction and then overturned.

The accident was so terrible that 12 people died on the spot. Four more injured later succumbed to their injuries during treatment, taking the death toll to 16.

There was chaos at the spot after the accident. With the help of ambulance, the injured were immediately taken to District Bhoj Hospital, Dhar. The atmosphere of the hospital also became tense as the injured arrived one after another.

According to officials, 13 injured are undergoing treatment in the district hospital. 6 people are admitted in a private hospital, while 9 seriously injured have been referred to Indore for better treatment.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased. The seriously injured will be given Rs 1 lakh each and the moderately injured will be given Rs 50 thousand each.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed deep sorrow over this accident. He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. The Prime Minister’s Office said that from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, an assistance of Rs 2-2 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased and Rs 50-50 thousand will be given to the injured.

Dhar district administration said that the causes of the accident will be investigated in detail, so that such incidents can be prevented in future.
