India is a land of opportunities, inspired by both technology and humanity: Prime Minister Modi!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday described India as a land of opportunities and said that the country is moving forward with the strength of both technology and humanity. Addressing the Indian expatriate community in The Hague, the Prime Minister said that at a time when the world is facing many challenges, India is emerging as an important force for innovation, economic development and global cooperation.

“India is a land of opportunities, driven by both technology and humanity,” he said. Referring to the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing conflicts in the world, the Prime Minister said, “This decade is becoming a decade of challenges for the world.”

He stressed the need for stronger international coordination and partnerships to deal with emerging geopolitical and economic uncertainties. “India and the Netherlands are continuously expanding cooperation in important areas like energy security and water security,” the Prime Minister said.

He further said that both the countries can work more closely at the global level and cooperate together to achieve big international projects.

Referring to India’s growing economic partnership with Europe, the Prime Minister said the proposed India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will further strengthen relations between the two sides.

“The Netherlands can become a natural gateway for Indian businesses that want to expand into Europe,” he said.

The Prime Minister also appreciated the role of the Indian diaspora in strengthening bilateral relations and said that this community acts as a trusted bridge between the two countries and contributes significantly to enhancing people-to-people ties and economic cooperation.

Addressing the enthusiastic Indian community, the Prime Minister said that the love and enthusiasm he received there made him feel as if he was attending a festival of India.

“Seeing so much love and enthusiasm, I forgot for a moment that I was in the Netherlands,” he said. The Prime Minister further said that The Hague has now become a living symbol of India-Netherlands friendship.
