Stomach diseases will go away and self-confidence will increase, know why ‘Mayurasana’ is special
In today’s modern lifestyle, where stomach problems and slow metabolism have become common, Mayurasana is considered very beneficial for physical health. This asana is helpful in removing the toxic elements present within the body.
Mayurasana is made up of two words. ‘Mayur’ means peacock and ‘Aasan’ means posture. It awakens the Navel Chakra (Manipur Chakra) and infuses confidence and positive energy within the person.
According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Mayurasana (Peacock Pose) is an advanced balancing yoga pose, in which the entire weight of the body rests on the palms. It is considered highly beneficial in activating the stomach organs, increasing digestive power and strengthening the muscles. In this asana, the weight of the body is mainly on the palms and shoulders, which strengthens the muscles of the wrists, shoulders, legs and the entire body.
By doing Mayurasana daily, body balance improves, concentration increases and mental stability also becomes stronger. This asana is also considered helpful in detoxifying the body. This helps in removing toxins from the body and improves blood circulation. Besides, it is also considered beneficial for the lungs.
To do this asana, first sit in Vajrasana. After this, place both the palms on the ground and keep the fingers backwards. Bend the elbows slightly and bring them near the stomach. Then slowly put the body weight on the palms and straighten the legs backwards. Keep the head forward and try to maintain balance of the entire body. Initially do this posture for a few seconds and then gradually increase the time. However, this asana may be a bit difficult for beginners, so it is better to do it under the supervision of a yoga expert.
Pregnant women and people suffering from high blood pressure, hernia or ulcer should not do this asana.
