Operation Clean Sweep: Three unregistered madrassas sealed in Khoda!
Ghaziabad district administration of Uttar Pradesh has launched a massive crackdown against illegal madrassas in Khoda area under ‘Operation Clean Sweep’. After the murder of student Surya Pratap Chauhan, resident of Navneet Vihar Colony, Khoda, the police have intensified efforts to curb criminal activities and strengthen law enforcement.
Under this campaign, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar visited Khoda and reviewed the ongoing campaign at the grassroots level. He briefed the officials about the strategy being implemented and assessed the progress of various verification and enforcement measures being taken by the administration and police.
The inspection is being conducted amid heightened vigilance in the area following a recent high-profile murder case, which has raised concerns over law and order and prompted officials to conduct a comprehensive review of the local enforcement mechanism.
Speaking to IANS, District Magistrate Mandar said, “The Chief Minister has recently issued instructions to take action against criminals across the state. In line with this, a campaign called ‘Clean Sweep’ is being conducted in Khoda.”
He said that the administration conducted detailed verification of properties, landlords, tenants and residents under this campaign. Its purpose was to identify any illegal activity and ensure compliance with legal and administrative requirements.
The District Magistrate said, “After investigation, three such madrassas were found which were not registered with the Madrassa Board. Therefore, today all three are being sealed.” He said that the operation will continue until complete verification is done to ensure that there is no illegal activity in any of the properties.
During the operation, the administration along with the police sealed Madrasa Rahmania Arabia Qasim-ul-Uloom. During investigation, the officials came to know that this madrassa was running without registration from the board.
Officials said ‘Operation Clean Sweep’ is designed around three key goals aimed at strengthening surveillance and enforcement in Khoda.
In the first phase, door-to-door identification of persons with criminal background and other suspects is carried out. In the second phase, the identified criminals are called to the police stations and they are issued a strict warning to desist from future criminal activities.
The third aspect of this campaign is to identify those persons who are involved in activities causing loss of government revenue and after verification, appropriate legal action will be proposed against such persons.
As part of this campaign, the authorities also organized a massive flag march in Khoda to strengthen the police presence and send a clear message about the administration’s zero tolerance approach towards crime and illegal activities.
According to police, Surya was stabbed during a fight on May 28 and later died during treatment at a private hospital in Noida. Police identified the main accused as Asad, who was later killed in an encounter late Saturday night.
