Amid reports of reduced security, political activities have intensified at Rabri Devi’s official residence. In the same sequence, Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of Lalu-Rabri and national president of Janashakti Janata Dal, reached his mother Rabri Devi’s residence to meet her. A large number of RJD workers were also present at the residence.
While talking to the media, Tej Pratap Yadav rejected the news of withdrawal of security and said that neither his mother Rabri Devi nor any member of the family has returned the security. He alleged that pressure was being put on the security personnel and they were repeatedly told that the security command had been abolished.
Tej Pratap said that his mother had only said that if the command was abolished then the security personnel could go away from their duty. He clarified that no decision to remove security was taken by the family.
Tej Pratap Yadav told that he had reached his residence to inquire about the well being of his mother as Rabri Devi was unwell. During this, he also raised the issue of women’s safety in the state. He said that the daughters-in-law of Bihar should get maximum security and the state government should focus on ensuring the safety of women. Taking aim at the Bihar government, he said that issues related to law and order and public safety of the state are not being given adequate attention.
Former minister Tej Pratap Yadav alleged that a rumor was spread by some pro-government media that the Lalu family had returned their security, while the reality was different. He reiterated that in his conversation with his mother, it became clear that the family has not taken any steps to return the security. The security personnel themselves showed the documents and said that their security command has been terminated.
Amidst this entire controversy, opposition parties have also raised their voice in support of Lalu family. Indian Insaaf Party (IIP) co-national president and MLA IP Gupta said that RJD plays a major role in the grand alliance and whenever there is political or administrative pressure on any big leader of the alliance, it is the responsibility of the allies to provide moral support.
He alleged that BJP is giving prominence to matters related to Lalu family to divert public attention from the real and burning issues of Bihar.
IP Gupta also raised questions on the financial condition of Bihar government. He said that the pace of development work in the state has slowed down and many serious issues are facing the government. To divert attention from issues like tender scam, political controversies are being created by keeping Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav at the centre.
