Odisha’s Srabani Nanda Helps Indian 4×100 Relay Team Clinch Gold In Taipei Meet
Bhubaneswar: Experienced Odisha sprinter Srabani Nanda played her part in the Indian relay team’s victory at the New Taipei City Athletics Open championship on Saturday.
The quartet of S S Sneha, Srabani, Sudeshna Shivankar and Tamanna clocked 44.07 seconds to claim gold medal in the Women’s 4x100m Relay event. The Indian team equalled the championship record of 44.07.
India bagged another gold on the opening day through long jumper Shaili Singh, who was not at her best but still was the best on view with an effort of 6.24 metres. Her season’s best is 6.58 metres, while her personal best is 6.76.
Tejas Shirse won a silver in 110m hurdles, clocking 13.58 seconds to finish a close second behind local man Hsieh Yuan-kai (13.57 seconds).
