Up Preparations For Nipun 2 0 Intensify The Government Will Strengthen The Learning Foundation Up To Class 5

The Uttar Pradesh government has started preparing for the next phase of basic education reforms. After strengthening Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) from Classes 1 to 3 through Nipun Bharat Mission, the government is now moving rapidly towards expanding its reach to Class 5.

For this, new learning targets and competencies are being set for Hindi, English, Mathematics and Environmental Studies (EVS) subjects. As per the prescribed action plan, these competencies and targets will be finalized by June 20 and presented for approval.

Recently, this action plan was presented in the review meeting organized under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Basic Education and Secondary Education Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma. In the meeting, the progress of expansion of Nipun Bharat Mission, setting of learning goals for classes 3 to 5, teacher consultation process and implementation strategy were reviewed. On this basis, the outline for the next phase of the mission is being taken forward. A strong foundation of children’s learning forms the basis of future quality education.

It is believed that in accordance with this thinking, an action plan for the expansion of Nipun Bharat Mission is being prepared by the Yogi government, so that continuous improvement in the learning outcomes of the students of classes 3, 4 and 5 can be ensured.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Nipun Bharat Mission has become a strong base for education reform in Uttar Pradesh. Now through Nipun 2.0, the government is preparing to take basic education reforms to the next level. The extension of the Mission from Class 3 to 5 will strengthen the continuity of children’s learning, improve disciplinary understanding and give new impetus to learning outcomes in schools.

Under the Nipun Extension Programme, mapping of competencies has been completed on the basis of National Curriculum Framework (NCF), Parakh and NCERT textbooks. Based on this, subject-wise and class-wise learning expectations are being set, so that the teaching process can be made more result-oriented.

The Government aims to ensure that pupils’ learning progress can be clearly measured and the teaching process is managed accordingly. Under the action plan, draft learning targets have been prepared for Hindi and Mathematics subjects.

The targets for English and EVS subjects will also be finalized in the upcoming phase. Through these goals, class-wise learning achievements of students will be clearly defined, which will help teachers in educational planning and learning assessment.

Active participation of teachers is being ensured to make the framework of Nipun 2.0 practical and in line with the needs of the schools. In this direction, virtual counseling has been organized with 12 teachers. Also, verification and refinement of the proposed competencies and learning goals will be done by organizing a counseling workshop with the participation of at least 10 teachers.

For this, a comprehensive stakeholder consultation process is also being conducted, so that the final framework is in line with the actual needs of the schools. Nipun Sankalp workshop will be conducted after the competencies and learning goals for classes 3 to 5 are finalized. Through this workshop, district and block level educational leadership, teachers and academic teams will be connected to the new framework and a strategy for its effective implementation will be prepared.
