Maharashtra: Minister claims, 6 UBT MPs formed a separate group, informed the Speaker!

Amidst the ongoing discussions regarding ‘Operation Tiger’ in Maharashtra, State Government Minister Sanjay Shirsat has made a big claim. He said that six MPs of Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) have formed a separate faction and have also informed Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in writing in this regard.

While talking to journalists, Sanjay Shirsat said that the process of forming a separate group has progressed a lot. He said that after all the formalities are completed, the concerned MPs themselves will decide which political party they want to go ahead with.

The Maharashtra government minister said, “The MPs have formed a separate group and informed the Lok Sabha Speaker about this. After the completion of the process, they will decide which party to join. If they want to join the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, the final decision on this will be taken by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Whatever his decision, we all will accept it.”

He also said that now this matter is largely in the hands of those MPs.

On the other hand, amid speculations about a possible break in Shiv Sena (UBT), senior party leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut and Lok Sabha MP Arvind Sawant held a joint press conference and gave a strong message to the potential rebels.

Citing the legacy of party founder Balasaheb Thackeray, both the leaders said the party will no longer tolerate any kind of betrayal and a political and legal battle will be fought against those trying to create a split.

This press conference was held just before the important meeting of Shiv Sena (UBT) parliamentary party at the Parliament Office in New Delhi.

These developments have given rise to new discussions in Maharashtra politics and now all eyes are on the next step of Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs.
