Jaishankar meets Mongolia President, discusses spiritual friendship!
Jaishankar gave details of these meetings on social media platform X. Expressing his happiness at meeting the President, he said, “It was an honor and an important meeting with President Ukhna Khurelsukh. I also conveyed warm greetings on behalf of the President of India Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Jaishankar further said, “President Ukhna’s visit to India last year has given a new impetus to the strategic partnership between the two countries. President Ukhna’s suggestion to further cooperation in various fields is commendable. I completely agree with his statement that the deepest friendship is spiritual friendship.”
Earlier, he also mentioned about his meeting with his Mongolian counterpart B Battsetseg. In this meeting, the progress of cooperation between the two countries in many important areas was reviewed.
After the meeting, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said that the strategic partnership between India and Mongolia is continuously strengthening and the relations between the two countries show “affinity, strength and potential”. He said that during the discussion, development projects, capacity building, education, culture, security and cooperation on multilateral platforms were reviewed.
The Foreign Minister wrote on Twitter that he was glad to visit Mongolia and looked forward to fruitful talks to further strengthen bilateral relations.
Diplomatic relations between India and Mongolia were established in 1955. India was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Mongolia and support its membership of the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
After the Mongolia visit, Jaishankar will visit South Korea, where he will hold talks with his counterpart and deliver the keynote address at the Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, after Mongolia, Jaishankar will visit South Korea on June 24 and 25, where he will hold bilateral talks with Chu-Hyun and present India’s perspective on the global stage.
