On the sixth day of the Commonwealth Games-2026, India added two more silver medals to its account, taking the total number of medals to 12. In athletics, Gulveer Singh won a historic silver medal in the men’s 10,000 meters race, while Harjinder Kaur won her second silver in the women’s 69 kg weight category by lifting a total of 227 kg.
With these two achievements, India now has a total of 12 medals in its account including 2 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze. The Indian team remains at ninth position in the medal table. Australia’s dominance in the medal table continues. Australia has so far consolidated the first position by winning a total of 80 medals including 35 gold, 18 silver and 27 bronze.
Canada is at the second position with a total of 35 medals including 13 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze, while England remains at the third position with a total of 43 medals including 10 gold, 18 silver and 15 bronze. Hosts Scotland are fourth with 7 gold, Nigeria fifth, Malaysia sixth, South Africa seventh and New Zealand eighth. India is at ninth position, while Jamaica is at tenth position in the top-10.
India will now expect medals from other events including athletics, boxing in the upcoming competitions, which can further strengthen its position in the medal table.
