Opposition attacks Rahul Gandhi’s speech, demands accountability from Home Minister!

Political rhetoric has intensified regarding the speech of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. Leaders of Congress and opposition parties supported Rahul Gandhi’s statement and targeted the central government and demanded accountability on many issues. Opposition leaders alleged that an attempt was made to stifle Rahul Gandhi’s voice in Parliament and the government should answer questions.

Congress MP Randeep Singh Surjewala, reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s speech, said, “The responsibility of the entire matter lies with the Union Home Minister. The Home Minister should accept his responsibility in front of the country and the Parliament and apologize to the youth of the country. The government will have to answer on the issues related to the youth.”

Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi said, “The bill was certain to be passed as the government had the numbers, but the situation that prevailed in the Parliament showed the government’s fear. Efforts were made to stop Rahul Gandhi from speaking and there were repeated interruptions during his speech. The opposition will continue to raise issues related to the public in the House.”

Congress leader Pawan Kheda also targeted the government, saying, “The incidents about which questions are being raised are the responsibility of the government. On whose orders was the action taken and who is accountable for it? Rahul Gandhi did not take any action, hence the question of apologizing does not arise.”

Congress MP Gurjit Singh Aujla defended Rahul Gandhi’s statement, saying, “There is no question of apologizing. Rahul Gandhi stands his ground strongly, and the issues raised by him are important.” He also mentioned the ideological differences between the BJP and the opposition.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Kumar Jha also supported Rahul Gandhi. He raised the question, “For what should Rahul Gandhi apologize? If action has been taken in any incident, lathi charge or other forces have been used, then his responsibility should be fixed.”

Samajwadi Party MP Neeraj Maurya said, “The opposition leaders were presenting their views, but the ruling party was continuously obstructing them. The government does not want the House proceedings to run smoothly. Even senior leaders appealed to the members to remain calm, but the situation did not improve.”

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kirti Azad said, “The opposition has been demanding that a charge sheet should be filed in the lathicharge case. Bills will keep coming and going, but it is necessary to discuss matters related to the public.”

Congress MLC from Mumbai Bhai Jagtap also supported Rahul Gandhi. He said, “The government knows that Rahul Gandhi raises issues based on facts in Parliament. The government is avoiding facing the questions. Rahul Gandhi will continue to raise youth, farmers, labourers, unemployment and other national issues and the government will have to answer these questions.”

A round of allegations and counter-allegations continues between the ruling party and the opposition regarding Rahul Gandhi’s speech. While NDA leaders have expressed objection to his statement, Congress and opposition parties are calling it an attempt to raise public issues.
