Nepal PMO conveyed the good wishes of Prime Minister Balendra Shah. It read, “On the occasion of India's 80th Independence Day, I extend my hearty congratulations and best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people and government of India.”
He expressed hope that the deep historical ties between Nepal and India, close people-to-people ties and cooperation between the two sides will continue to strengthen in the years to come.
At the same time, Bangladesh High Commission present in India expressed its sentiments through Independence Day message in multiple languages. These messages emphasized the theme of “friendship, harmony and prosperity”.
“Bangladesh congratulates all the men, women and children of India on its 80th Independence Day. We sincerely remember those brave men who laid down their lives in the long-running freedom movement,” the post said. This comes amid signs of new diplomatic efforts between India and Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, as Bangladesh celebrates India's 80th Independence Day, the Indian High Commission in Dhaka stressed on scaling up the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, and appealed to the Indian Embassy in Bhutan to go ahead with the historic “Suryapath Tiranga” Yatra.
At the same time, the Indian Embassy in Thimphu, while sharing the video of the flag hoisting on the morning of August 15, wrote on Instagram, “Surya Path continues this journey of the tricolor. Now it is the responsibility of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu to carry the Indian tricolor, and inspire Indians for the tricolor campaign in every home.”
This year's Independence Day celebrations specifically celebrate 150 years of the national song 'Vande Mataram' and also showcase the energy, hope and contribution of India's youth in building a developed India by 2047.
