Galle Test: India beats Sri Lanka by 165 runs, Manav Suthar takes 6 wickets!

Indian cricket team defeated Sri Lanka by 165 runs in the test match played at Galle International Stadium. Thanks to the lethal bowling of Manav Suthar, Team India won the Galle Test by bowling out Sri Lanka for 206 runs in the second innings in the second session on the fifth day. With the win, Team India is ahead 1-0 in the 2-match series.

Sri Lanka had a target of 372 runs to win in the fourth innings. The team had a very bad start. Sri Lanka had lost its first 4 wickets for just 47 runs. This was the time when the team's defeat was certain.

However, captain Dhananjay de Silva (59) and first innings centurion Sonal Dinusha averted the team's defeat for some time by playing an inning of 84 runs, but their efforts were not enough. With both of them out, Sri Lanka's innings was reduced to 206 runs in 77.4 overs and lost the match by a huge margin of 165 runs.

Young bowler Manav Suthar was the hero of the second innings for India. Suthar took 6 wickets for 55 runs in 23.4 overs. Apart from this, Prasidh Krishna took 2 wickets and Siraj-Jadeja took 1-1 wicket.

Indian team won the toss and batted first and scored 462 runs with the help of Devdutt Padikal's 167 runs, KL Rahul's 82 runs and Dhruv Jurel's 51 runs.

Despite Sonal Dinusha's 100 and Niroshan Dickwella's 80 runs in the first innings, Sri Lanka was bundled out for 284 and trailed by 178 runs.

India's second innings was reduced to 193 runs. Rishabh Pant had scored 66 runs. Based on the lead of 178 runs, India had given Sri Lanka a target of 372 runs to win. The second Test of the series will be played in Colombo from 23 August.
