'United Forum of Bank Unions' (UFBU), a joint forum of unions of bank employees and officers, has announced a nationwide strike in the month of September for their various demands. Due to this strike, the work of banks will be completely disrupted for a total of four days in a month.
One of the main demands of the bank employees is that like the Reserve Bank of India and the insurance sector, banks should also implement the system of working 5 days a week. Apart from this, they also demand that performance linked incentive agreements should be implemented uniformly in all banks. If these demands are not met, the employees have warned of vigorous agitation.

Banks will remain closed for 12 days in the month of September due to strikes and holidays, hence there will be a big impact on cheques, cash deposit or withdrawal and other administrative work. Common people and businessmen may face difficulties due to banks being closed during the festive season.
Although banks are closed, ATM, internet banking, UPI and mobile banking services will continue. Therefore, people are advised to complete their physical transactions at the bank as soon as possible and use digital banking to make transactions easily.
