Yogi said on UPCOS launch – Stop labor exploitation, honorarium revised every five years!

Taking a big step towards the interests of outsourced workers in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government launched the Uttar Pradesh Outsourced Services Corporation (UPCOS). Under this, about 3.5 to 5 lakh outsourced workers of the state will get the benefit of respectable honorarium, social security and better service system. Along with implementing the system of revision of honorarium every five years, the government has also taken steps towards eliminating arbitrariness in the appointment process of outsourced personnel.

At the inauguration program of UPCOS in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the relationship between the government and the employee is not only of salary, but of trust. To maintain this trust, it is important that the employee feels that his good work is being recorded and there is an effective mechanism to listen to his problems. The employee must be confident that he is not alone.

The Chief Minister said that outsourced workers should be paid on time, honorarium should be commensurate with their hard work and respect for labor should be ensured. The priority of the government is clear that “there should be no exploitation of labour, no injustice.” He said that a large number of employees and workers have contributed to the journey of development and progress that Uttar Pradesh has undertaken under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Be it the sanitation workers working in municipal bodies or the employees engaged in various important functions of the governance system, whether permanent or outsourced, the development journey of the state has progressed due to the efforts of everyone.

He said that it is the responsibility of the government to give respect to every such person as per his dignity. Uttar Pradesh Outsourced Service Corporation is the effort of the state government towards establishing this dignity and pride.

The Chief Minister said that to remove social discrimination, economic discrimination will also have to be eliminated. When a person works, he should get proper remuneration for his hard work. Also, in case of an accident, he should have social security and safety cover.

An attempt has been made to institutionalize the system of honorarium and social security for outsourced workers through UPCOS. The objective of the government is to create such a system in which employees get respect commensurate with their work and there is transparency in their service conditions.

The Chief Minister said that the employee's time should not be spent only on papers. Evaluation and records of his work should be maintained systematically and there should be effective arrangements for solving his problems. He said that along with the interests of the employees, the government also wants to strengthen the efficiency and accountability of the governance system.

With the launch of UPCOS, a new beginning has been made in the direction of making the system related to the services of outsourced workers in the state more transparent, systematic and accountable. The government claims that this will benefit lakhs of outsourced workers and will also curb arbitrariness related to appointment and honorarium.
