Big claim in Disha Salian case, lawyer said – CCTV footage was tampered!

In the Disha Salian case, father Satish Salian's lawyer Nilesh Ojha has made many serious claims, alleging that CCTV footage was tampered with. He claimed that Uddhav Thackeray is an accused in the case, while Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is an important witness. He also claimed that on the basis of the evidence submitted by him, CBI can take action against Aditya Thackeray and others.

Ojha alleged that Uddhav Thackeray had reinstated police officer Sachin Vazhe in police service to hide his son's wrongdoings. He claimed that Sachin Vaze was under suspension on the orders of the High Court in the case of custodial death and its related coverup and was out on bail. According to Ojha, Vaze was reinstated in police service two days before Disha Salian's death.

Ojha alleged that Vaze's reinstatement was against the court order. He claimed that former police officer Parambir Singh had said in his statement that there was pressure from Uddhav Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray to reinstate Vaze. Ojha also linked it to the alleged misuse of power by then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

He claimed that current Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is an important witness in this case. According to Ojha, after the arrest of Sachin Vazhe in the Antilia case, Uddhav Thackeray had said in a press conference that he is not Osama Bin Laden.

After this, Devendra Fadnavis had said that when he was the Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray had asked him to reinstate Vaze, but he had refused to do so citing the court order.

Ojha also made many claims about Parambir Singh, Shailendra Nagarkar, Arjun Rajane, Sachin Vaze and Aditya Thackeray. He said that CBI can prepare for action like arrest against these people after examining the available records and evidence.

Regarding the footage related to Disha Salian case, Ojha alleged that it was tampered. He said that the police had sealed the CCTV footage after taking DVR backup.

He claimed that a few days later, Parambir Singh had said in a press conference that Aditya Thackeray and others were not present there at the time of the incident. Raising questions on this, Ojha said that if the CCTV footage was already sealed, then how was such an investigation conducted on its basis.

According to lawyer Nilesh Ojha, when the hearing of the case started in the High Court in 2025, he demanded the forensic investigation report of the CCTV footage. He claimed that when the court sought a report, the police told that the forensic examination of the footage was not done. After this the footage was sent for forensic examination. Ojha claimed that the forensic report reportedly revealed that the video recording between June 4 and June 9 was deleted.

He also claimed that later the hard disk containing the backup of the CCTV footage came to light.

Nilesh Ojha said that if any important document or evidence goes missing from the police custody or from the office of any police officer and this is done to save an accused, then serious legal action can be taken against those responsible for it.

Citing the orders of the High Court and the Supreme Court, he claimed that in case evidence is found to be tampered with to protect an accused, further investigation can be done by taking the people concerned into custody.

Ojha claimed that further action, including arrest, can be taken against the people concerned under the legal provisions available with the CBI.
