It is further written that the Foreign Minister will address the 'High Level Session' of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly on 26 September. During this visit, the Foreign Minister will also participate in many multilateral and bilateral meetings.
Let us tell you, the High-Level Week of the United Nations General Assembly will run from 22 to 29 September. The general debate will be held from 22 to 26 September and again on 28 September. During this, top leaders and senior representatives of many countries of the world will share their views on issues like global peace, security, economic challenges, climate change, dealing with epidemics and nuclear weapons.
S Jaishankar's name has been included in the revised list of speakers. During this time he will present India's position on global issues. This address comes at a time when the world is facing many geopolitical conflicts, economic pressures and challenges related to energy and food prices.
This time, issues like threats posed by rising sea levels, steps taken regarding climate, prevention of epidemics and complete abolition of nuclear weapons will also be discussed in UNGA.
This will also be the last high-level UNGA of the second term of the current UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, as his term ends in December.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman will preside over the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. During the session, Presidents, Prime Ministers and senior representatives of the 193 UN member states will address the UNGA from its famous green marble podium.
