What is the real claim of Abhijeet Deepke?
Abhijeet Deepke has expressed his views about the protests in Mumbai through a social media post. According to him, a protest was planned on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. However, he claims that Mumbai Police had not given permission for this protest.
He has expressed displeasure over the decision of not granting permission. He has said that citizens have the right to express their views and not allowing protests is an attempt to suppress the voice of the citizens. He also said in the social media post that if permission is not given for the protest, then CJP will start 'Jail Bharo' protest in Mumbai on the day of Gandhi Jayanti.
Mumbai Police's clarification
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police has given clarification on this matter on social media. According to the police, Mumbai Police does not have the authority to give permission for any meeting or protest in Shivaji Park. For this, Mumbai Police has cited a decision of the Bombay High Court in 2013 and an order of the Maharashtra Government in 2016. Therefore, it has become clear from his clarification that there is no independent decision of the police behind not giving permission for protest in Shivaji Park.
Advice to protest at some other place
According to the information given by Mumbai Police, the applicant in this case, Ajinkya Shinde, has been informed about this. Police have advised to protest at some other place in Mumbai city instead of Shivaji Park. Also, they have been asked to submit necessary applications to get permission to protest at another place. Mumbai Police has clarified that after receiving the application for another place, it will be considered as per the rules.

Two different things have come to light regarding the proposed protest in Mumbai on Gandhi Jayanti. On one hand, it has been claimed that the organizer of the protest has refused to give permission, while on the other hand, the police has clarified that Mumbai Police does not have the authority to give permission for Shivaji Park.
