Russia Attack Ukraine Kiev

Russia's Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that its forces launched a massive attack on military-industrial targets in Kiev and several other areas of Ukraine using precision weapons and drones. The ministry said that along with land, sea and air-launched weapons, drones were also used in these attacks. According to the ministry, the attacks also included bases operated by Fire Point in Kiev, where Flamingo cruise missiles and medium- and long-range drones are reportedly manufactured and maintained.

The ministry said military-industrial targets were also attacked in the Kiev, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava and Kharkiv regions, Reuters reported. According to reports, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said about 70 missiles and drones were fired targeting the country's energy infrastructure.

At least 11 people were killed in the attacks across Ukraine. He described energy infrastructure as one of the main targets and accused Russia of wanting to cause huge damage and send a message through the attack. “One of the main targets was our energy infrastructure. The Russian military wanted to deliver a painful and cosmetic attack,” Zelensky said in a post on Telegram.

He said Russian ballistic missiles remain Ukraine's biggest challenge and called for additional air defense systems, saying they are desperately needed by the country.
