Athawale said, Congress gets a shock in MLC elections due to Election Commission opposition!

Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale on Wednesday inaugurated the 'Pride in Power' program and 'National Transgender Persons Awards'. On this occasion, Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale, while talking to IANS, commented on the results of MLC elections, the performance of Congress and the demand for voting through ballot paper and the relief steps taken by the Maharashtra Cabinet for the drought-affected farmers.

Athawale said, “Transgenders from many states participated in the program organized in Mumbai. My ministry is running many schemes to provide justice to the transgenders. I have advised the transgenders not to extend their hands in front of anyone. Form a cooperative society and start a company. The government will help for this. Our ministry will run schemes to teach skills to the transgenders.”

Regarding the results of MLC elections, Ramdas Athawale said, “Most of the NDA candidates are winning out of 28 seats in four states. Congress has suffered a huge setback in this election too. Congress should not make excuses for its defeat.

The party was demanding elections to be held through ballot paper and now when the elections have been held through ballot paper only, NDA has got a big victory. Congress can now claim that there were some irregularities or some other reasons were responsible, but it is not appropriate to make such statements.

There is anger among the public towards the opposition leaders including Rahul Gandhi due to their agitation against the Election Commission. This anger is visible in this election.”

On the relief steps taken by the Maharashtra Cabinet for the drought-affected farmers, Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale said, “Banks are entitled to recover loans from the farmers who have borrowed money. But, considering the drought situation and the problems of the farmers, banks should not harass them. Strict action will be taken against the bank officials who harass the farmers. The state cabinet has also taken the same decision.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had said that the state government has decided to waive off the loans of the troubled Upsa irrigation schemes. Under this, an advance payment of Rs 5,000 will be given to the farmers affected by drought.

Installments of Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana will be given to the farmers. The government is giving an incentive grant of Rs 50,000 to farmers who regularly repay crop loans. The Council of Ministers formed for loan waiver will discuss the increase in this grant and appropriate decision will be taken according to the economic situation.
