BJP has targeted the party over Congress's defeat in the Karnataka Legislative Council elections. BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said that Congress could not even register its presence in these elections. He said that even though ballot papers and ballot boxes were used instead of EVMs in these elections, Congress failed to garner the support of voters.
At the press conference, Trivedi said that this shows that Congress needs to garner the support of the public and concerned voters to win the elections, whether through EVMs or ballot papers.
Sudhanshu Trivedi also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi has now returned after traveling for about two weeks and is talking about such a movement, which can create problems for the Indian economy. He said that Rahul Gandhi should understand that neither the public nor the MLAs are with him. Trivedi said that public support is achieved through hard work, not by traveling and spending holidays.
The BJP MP said party national president Nitin Naveen was going to Uttar Pradesh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah was in Punjab, while Rahul Gandhi was in Vietnam. He said that Champa is the ancient name of Vietnam. Trivedi appealed to the Congress to give up the habit of avoiding hard work and said that by doing so the slogan of 'vote theft' will automatically end.
Trivedi said that Rahul Gandhi and Congress have made many allegations regarding the election process of the country, but the results of the Legislative Council elections have shocked their hopes. He claimed that Congress has so far not been able to leave any impact in the Legislative Council elections held in various states. It is noteworthy that in the elections held on four Legislative Council seats in Karnataka, BJP retained three seats, while JDS with the support of BJP won one seat.
