2 suspects arrested following deadly shooting of foreigners in Ho Chi Minh City

Authorities have arrested two suspects in connection with a shooting that targeted a group of foreigners in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, leaving one person dead and another injured.

The Ministry of Public Security announced Monday morning that its investigative units, working in close coordination with Ho Chi Minh City police, successfully tracked down and apprehended the individuals.

While investigations are ongoing, authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the case.

The arrests follow an urgent notice issued on May 22 by police in Trang Bang Ward in neighboring Tay Ninh Province, which described the two as “foreign nationals,” suspected of carrying out the attack in HCMC’s Ben Thanh Ward the previous evening.

Preliminary investigations revealed that immediately following the shooting in HCMC, the suspects fled in a taxi.

They were tracked to the area near the Co.opmart Trang Bang supermarket in Tay Ninh, where they reportedly exited the vehicle.
