The biggest and highlight of the 2027 Kawasaki Versys 650 is its new signature dual-tone color combination of Kawasaki Green and Metallic Spark Black. This new color palette gives the bike a more aggressive, sporty and premium visual appeal than ever before. The front facia of the bike looks heavily inspired by Kawasaki's flagship adventure bike Versys 1000.
Talking about the design and bodywork, it has sharp twin-pod all-LED headlamps, sleek LED turn indicators and an aerodynamic semi-fairing, which effectively deflects wind pressure at high speeds. The bike has a 4-way adjustable windscreen, which the rider can easily adjust as per his convenience and height without any additional tools. Additionally, the muscular large 21-litre fuel tank, split grab rails, step-up split seats and underbelly exhaust further reinforce its sporty tourer character.
The 2027 Kawasaki Versys 650 is powered by the company's tried and trusted 649cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, parallel-twin, DOHC 8-valve engine. This powertrain is capable of generating maximum power of approximately 66 to 67 bhp (65.7 bhp / 67 PS) at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 61 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch technology.
The engine is specially tuned to deliver strong low-end and mid-range torque, eliminating the need for frequent gear changes in heavy traffic and a cruising speed of 120-140 km/h can be easily maintained on the open highway without any vibration. Additionally, this engine is fully compatible with India's latest emission standards and E20 fuel (20% ethanol blended petrol). During long journeys, its large fuel tank with 21-litre capacity provides the rider with an impressive riding range of over 400 to 450 kilometers on a single full tank.
Keeping in mind long distance travel and bad roads, Kawasaki has given a high-grade suspension setup in Versys 650. At the front of the bike, a 41mm inverted (USD) telescopic fork has been installed, which provides a long wheel travel of 150mm. At the same time, an off-set laydown monoshock with remote spring preload adjustability has been provided for the rear suspension, which gives a wheel travel of 145mm. The remote adjuster allows the rider to set the suspension stiffness in seconds when carrying heavy luggage (panniers) or when traveling with a pillion rider.
To maintain better grip on the highway and agility in turning, the bike has been provided with 17-inch light alloy wheels, which are shod with wide radial tubeless tires of size 120/70-ZR17 at the front and 160/60-ZR17 at the rear. Safety has been taken full care of in the braking department; There are 300mm dual petal disc brakes with dual-piston callipers on the front wheel and 250mm single disc brake on the rear wheel. It comes with a standard dual-channel ABS system, which ensures safe and precise stopping power in any emergency.
