The fourth passing out parade and peeping ceremony of male and female cadets of Short Service Commission (Technical) was organized on Saturday at the Officers Training Academy i.e. OTA located in Gaya, Bihar. In the ceremony, a total of 253 officer cadets crossed the last step and received commission in the Indian Army. These included 218 officer cadets of Short Service Commission (Technical) male-65 batch and 35 officer cadets of female-36 batch.
The reviewing officer of the parade was Lieutenant General Le Van Huong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army. The disciplined and coordinated drill activities created a sense of pride and enthusiasm among those present at the ceremony. Academy Under Officer P Shashi Kumar played the role of Parade Commander of the passing out parade.
These officers received awards
Cadets who performed excellently during training were awarded various medals and honors in the ceremony. P Shashi Kumar was awarded the prestigious Sword of Honor for being selected as the best all-rounder. He also won the gold medal by securing first position in the overall order of merit. He got commission in Gorkha Rifles. Whereas, Battalion Under Officer Deepak Singh Rawat stood second in merit and received a silver medal and was commissioned in the Rajput Regiment. Academy Cadet Adjutant Lieutenant Navneet Singh stood third in merit and won the bronze medal and was awarded commission in Para Special Forces. Kalidhar Company was honored with the Chief of Army Staff Banner for being the best company.
Review officer gave tips to new officers
At the ceremony, the Review Officer inspired the new officers to embrace innovation in military leadership, continuously enhance their knowledge and gain proficiency in emerging technologies. He stressed on the need to adapt to the rapidly changing battlefield and lead effectively in both peace and war situations while maintaining the values of the Indian Army.
POP was a proud moment for parents
The piping ceremony was an important moment full of pride and emotions for the officer cadets and their families. After months of hard work and dedication, the cadets were awarded stars on their shoulders, symbolizing their becoming commissioned officers. With this he assumed his new responsibilities as the future leaders of the Indian Army.
