New Delhi: The Central Government has taken three major decisions for the farmers and the capital Delhi in the cabinet meeting on Wednesday. In this meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, proposals worth a total of Rs 2.79 lakh crore were approved. These include important projects ranging from increase in support price of Rabi crops to electricity and traffic system.
Big decision taken in the interest of farmers
Let us tell you, the biggest decision of the cabinet has been taken in the interest of farmers. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of 6 Rabi crops for the marketing season 2027-28. With this, farmers will be able to get better prices for their crops. Under this decision, the government has increased the MSP of wheat, barley, gram, lentils, mustard and safflower. The highest increase has been made in safflower by Rs 675 per quintal, now its new MSP has become Rs 7215.
Whereas the new price of mustard has been fixed at Rs 6613 with an increase of Rs 413, of lentils at Rs 7390 with an increase of Rs 390, of barley at Rs 2286 with an increase of Rs 136, of gram at Rs 5958 with an increase of Rs 83 and in wheat with an increase of Rs 25, the new MSP has been fixed at Rs 2610 per quintal.
What did the Union Minister say?
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that with this increase, farmers will get good profit on cost. Farmers will get a margin of up to 106 percent on wheat, 96 percent on mustard and 92 percent on lentils. The government says that this will also promote crop diversification.
A big decision was also taken regarding PM Dhara Yojana
The second major decision has been taken regarding PM Dhara scheme. This project will strengthen the grid and smart grid infrastructure to bring renewable energy to the common people. The Union Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, a major achievement has been achieved in the field of renewable energy in the country, which is ahead of many big countries.
Third decision taken regarding Delhi traffic system
The third decision has been taken to improve the traffic system of Delhi. Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) has been approved for the capital. Under this technology, work will be done to reduce traffic jams, road safety will increase and movement of vehicles will become easier. Let us tell you, a total of Rs 2,79,157 crore is planned to be spent on these three projects, of which Rs 90,962 crore is expected to be spent on MSP payment, Rs 1,86,405 crore is expected to be spent on PM Section and Rs 1,790 crore is expected to be spent on Delhi ITMS.
