370’s ‘Biryani’ and making fun of dead bodies! Comedians Pranit More and Sejal Pawar are punished, Women Commission takes strict action
New Delhi: The difficulties of artists who serve anything in the name of stand-up comedy now seem to be increasing. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken a very strict stance on the controversial video of ‘370 ki biryani’ during a comedy show in Gurugram. Taking suo motu cognizance of this entire matter, the Commission has directly served hearing notice to comedians Pranit More and Himanshu Jangra. The official hearing of this case will be held on June 22 at 4 pm in front of the Women’s Commission.
According to the report of news agency PTI, the National Commission for Women has clearly said that the content of this video going viral on social media and the way it is presented in the name of entertainment is extremely worrying.
Chairperson of Women’s Commission wrote a letter to the police, asked for report in 7 days
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, NCW President Vijaya Rahatkar herself has taken charge. He has written a strong letter to the Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) ordering him to take immediate, strict and time-bound action in this matter.
Not only this, the Commission has given an ultimatum to the police administration and asked them to submit the report (ATR) of the entire action taken so far within just 7 days. The Women’s Commission has asked the police what is the status of the FIR in this case, what steps have been taken under the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and other laws, and how far has the investigation into the viral video reached. Along with this, the role of the show organizers, artists and venue management has also been asked to be investigated.
Comments on dead bodies of medical students became heavy, AIMSA opened front
The controversy did not stop here, a huge uproar has also arisen over the comments of MBBS student Sejal Pawar, who participated in another stand-up show of Pranit More. During the show, Sejal Pawar made some such comments on the cadavers and body donors of the medical college, which infuriated the doctor community. All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) has strongly condemned this.
AIMSA says that people who donate their bodies for medical studies make a God-like contribution in preparing future doctors and saving lives. Making such cadavers and body donors a source of entertainment or cheap comedy is extremely insensitive and insulting. The association has made it clear that such actions that hurt the dignity of medical education will not be tolerated at all. He has demanded that the accused should immediately apologize, otherwise the organization will not shy away from adopting the legal path.
