Health Desk. The initial symptoms of many women's health problems may seem like normal problems. Swelling of the uterus i.e. uterus can also be a similar problem. There could be infection, pelvic infection or other gynecological reasons behind this. In some cases the symptoms remain mild, so persistent problems should not be ignored.
1. Pain in the lower abdomen
If there is swelling in the uterus, pain or heaviness may be felt in the pelvic area or lower abdomen. If the pain is persistent or occurs repeatedly, investigation is necessary.
2. Abnormal vaginal discharge
Vaginal discharge that is different in color, odor, or amount from normal may be a sign of infection or inflammation. Along with this, burning or itching may also be felt.
3. Change in periods
In case of problems like excessive pain during menstruation, irregular periods or more bleeding than normal, a gynecologist should be consulted.
4. Fever and weakness
If pelvic pain is accompanied by fever, chills, weakness or feeling unwell, it may indicate infection. Instead of delaying such symptoms, one should contact the doctor.
When to get tested?
If any of these symptoms persists, increases rapidly or several symptoms appear simultaneously, it is important to get checked by a gynecologist. Inflammation of the uterus cannot be confirmed on the basis of symptoms alone. The doctor may recommend physical examination, ultrasound or other tests as needed.
